About Us
Uday Foundation was founded on September 11, 2014, in the loving memory of Uday K. Shetty, a philanthropist who believed in dedicated service towards the aged community, whom he would fondly refer to as ‘old children’.

Uday Foundation is an NGO that was founded to spread smiles in the lives of abandoned, less privileged, old and elderly people. We are a Mumbai-based organization that regularly organizes food & grocery distribution drives and conducts fun programmes in old-age homes across the city, so that the elderly forget their woes and smile with us. During the lockdown, on March 15, 2021 we started Roti दे, a monthly initiative to feed the needy. Every month, we raise funds to conduct food supplies donation drives in old age homes, retirement facilities, orphanages, Gurudwara langars, and from whichever place we receive an intimation or request. The young and dynamic volunteers of Uday Foundation aka #TeamUday celebrate the 15th of every month as Roti दे.
Little Steps go a Long Way
Mission:
The Longitudinal Ageing Survey of India 2020 found 18 million homeless elderly individuals. 5% of people aged 60 or older experienced ill-treatment in 2020. Uday Foundation conducts entertaining programs at old age homes to bring joy to elderly residents facing eviction or relocation.
Vision:
Donating food has multifaceted benefits for our country. It promotes overall well-being by ensuring people are healthy and actively contributing to society. Uday Foundation takes part in this effort through monthly food and grocery distribution drives for the less privileged in both urban and rural Mumbai.
